region an area in which many places are similar
landform a natural feature on Earth’s surface

polar climate the coldest climate
subarctic climate a colder climate that is close to being polar
temerate climate a mild climate between tropical and subarctic climates
natural resource something in the environment that people can use
raw material natural resource that has been changed to make other products

industry a form of business
manufacturing making products to sell
product a thing that people make or grow
capital a thing that people use to make products
agriculture using the soil to raise crops or animals
conserve to use resources carefully
renewable resource a resource that can be replaced
recycle to use something again
nonrenewable resource a resource that cannot be replaced
human resources people who make products or do jobs for others
service a job that people do for others
